-- Raisi: CBI’s transparency encourages investors

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi underlined that providing timely, quick, and clear information on foreign exchange issues by the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) will give more confidence to investors and businessmen.
He made the remarks during the 63rd annual session of the Central Bank’s General and Extraordinary Assembly on Saturday after listening to the eight-month performance report by CBI Governor Mohammad Reza Farzin.

--  Mohmedi draws first blood against Alizadeh; Hedayati outmuscles Yousefi

Iranian wrestler Alireza Mohmedi will be looking to go all the way to represent the country at next year’s Paris Olympics after coming out on top against Nasser Alizadeh in the Greco-Roman Wrestling National Championships.
All eyes were on the 87kg final at the event in Qom – serving as the first round of the national team trials – as to who would take advantage in the race to be the Iranian contender for an Olympic berth.
It was Mohmedi who built on a world 82kg silver-winning run in September to walk away with a thrilling 5-4 victory over his opponent – the Asian 87kg champion for the past three years and runner-up in October’s Asian Games.

-- Ex-Iraqi PM: Without Soleimani, Fight on Daesh Would Have Failed


Iraq’s former Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki on Saturday praised late Iranian General Qassem Soleimani for the role he played in anti-terrorism fight in the Arab country, saying Iraq would have failed to defeat Daesh terrorists if it was not for Soleimani’s assistance.
“We could not have fought Daesh if it was not for efforts by Martyr Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis and the Iraqi nation,” Maliki said at a ceremony held in the Iranian embassy here.

--  Animation Shows Assassination of Netanyahu

Iran has released an animated video depicting the targeting of Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after the occupying regime assassinated one of the most senior Iranian military advisors in Syria.
In the video, Netanyahu is sitting at a table with some Zionist military officials at the Mossad intelligence agency headquarters in Tel Aviv. As they observe a screen broadcasting intelligence regarding Iranian spies within Israel, the screen is apparently hacked by Iran’s military, while a time bomb underneath Netanyahu’s desk counts down and explodes, killing the infamous prime minister and those with him.

--  Tehran to Host Print Expo in July

The 3rd Iran ‎Future Print Expo (IFPEX 3) is scheduled to be held in Tehran on July 23-26, the head of Iran’s Print Industry Exporters Babak Abedin says. Speaking to IBNA, Abedin who is also the director of the 3rd Iran ‎Future Print Expo said that a contest for designing the poster of this event is underway and the works will be judged.
“The third edition of the IFPEX will almost focus on internationality by inviting international visitors, trade delegations and stand owners. Moreover, advanced specialty and training activities are on the agenda of the expo,” he said.

-- Iran stresses diplomatic resolution for disputed gas field amid regional tensions

- Mohammad Dehghan, Deputy President for Legal Affairs, stressed on Saturday that Iran considers negotiation the most effective approach to settle the Arash Gas Field dispute.

Highlighting the efficacy of negotiation in resolving the dispute, Dehghan stressed it as the most efficient means for a resolution. He underscored, "While the Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds the responsibility for these negotiations, Iran is ready to initiate development based on the drilled wells if Kuwait pursues field utilization."

--  PGPL: Esteghlal beat Paykan

Esteghlal football team defeated Paykan 2-1 in the 2023/24 Iran’s Persian Gulf Pro League (PGPL) on Saturday. Armin Sohrabian headed home just after the hour mark in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium and substitute Peyman Babaei scored the hosts’ second goal in the 72nd minute.

Paykan forward Amir Shahim scored a consolation goal in the added time.

--  Animated short film “Legend” to pay tribute to martyr Soleimani

 The animated short film "Legend" depicting the courage and heroism of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani will soon be unveiled. The short animation, produced and directed by Seyyed Mostafa Hosseini, will soon be released as the latest product from the Sureh Youth Cinema Center, Mehr reported on Saturday. 

The film portrays the legendary figure that exists not in the pages of mythical history books, but in the contemporary era, the report added.
